Psychological Assessment
A Psychological Assessment includes an initial session with the child’s parent(s) to determine relevant background information. The parent may need to complete a questionnaire or checklist about their child. The assessment of the child usually takes 1-2 sessions, depending on the issues. Feedback about the child’s presentation occurs with parents at a later session. Treatment options are discussed, with counselling/therapy sessions recommended if appropriate.
Intellectual Assessment
Intellectual assessment involves an initial meeting with the child’s parent(s) where background information is collected. The assessment with the child may be conducted over 1-2 sessions. A follow-up session with the parents provides feedback on the child’s performance, their strengths and weaknesses, and specific recommendations to support their child. A comprehensive written report is also provided.
Academic Assessment
An Academic Assessment usually involves an initial meeting with the child’s parent(s) where background information is collected. The assessment with the child may take 1-2 sessions depending on the assessments administered. A brief written report is also provided.
Psycho-Educational Assessment

A follow-up session with the parents provides feedback on the child’s performance, their strengths and weaknesses, and specific recommendations to support their child. A comprehensive written report is also provided. If necessary, a meeting with the school can be arranged to ensure the school is aware of the child’s needs.
